Our ex-ante policy impact assessment applies rigorous quantitative and qualitative methods to estimate the potential economic, social, environmental, nutritional, and distributional effects of alternative policy options. We assess different policy scenarios to identify expected benefits, costs, trade-offs, unintended consequences, and distributional effects across sectors, population groups, and value chain actors. Where appropriate, we use economic modelling, system dynamics modelling, cost-benefit analysis, value chain analysis, and stakeholder evidence to simulate potential outcomes under alternative policy pathways.
